Eligible Projects
Continuing maintenance like cleaning, re-pointing, scraping and painting, porch handrail repair, glazing, and glass replacement while retaining original window sashes will only be considered as part of a larger restoration project.
  • Individual projects such as:
    • Installation of traditional half-round gutters and round-down spouts.
    • Installation of wood storm windows and screens and wood storm doors. 
    • Restoring an asphalt shingle roof to cedar or clay tile roof.
    • Restoring an enclosed porch or concrete stoop porch to original materials and level of detail. 
    • Wood siding or shingle restoration including trim detail.
  • Multiple restoration projects such as removal of non-original aluminum / vinyl siding to restore the original underlying wood siding, while restoring any original window openings, porches, and ornamental features.
  • Porch repair utilizing new structural lumber and decking but conserving columns / posts, spindles / balusters, and brackets, through epoxy consolidants or other methods.
  • Replacing deteriorated or missing materials with new, appropriate materials different than the original.
  • Wood window repair and overhaul using epoxy consolidants or other methods, re-attaching ropes and weights.

Ineligible Projects
  • Landscaping, sidewalks, driveways, fences, retaining walls, or site features
  • New construction like garages, house additions, decks, yard structures, and fire escapes 
  • The use of substitute materials in:
    • Aluminum and vinyl, extruded, or clad wood windows
    • Flush-mounted, ogee, K-style gutters in aluminum or plastic
    • Metal panel doors
    • Siding
    • Storm windows and doors
    • Three-tab shingle for roofs
