The City of Elgin and Kane County have formed a partnership called a Consortium. The newly-formed Consortium will make additional federal dollars available through participation in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME).

For-profit and not-for-profit developers may apply for funding.

HOME dollars are used exclusively for affordable housing activities. Eligible activities under HOME are:

Funding priorities will be determined through the development of a Five Year Consolidated Plan. Kane County has taken on the responsibility of administering the Kane / Elgin Consortium. View the Kane County website for further details about funding and application deadlines.
