January 2007, the City of Elgin opened the doors to the Elgin Art Showcase, Elgin’s newest performance and gallery space. Located on the eighth floor of the historic Professional Building at 164 Division Street in the heart of downtown Elgin, the Art Showcase offers an intimate space for local artists to exhibit their work and performers to display their talent.

Location & Amenities
The Elgin Art Showcase is located near City Hall parking and downtown restaurants and is handicap accessible. The theater boasts a spectacular view of the city, a grand limestone fireplace, and a 100-seat capacity. The gallery space is equipped with picture rails and track lighting.

Call for Visual Arts
The Elgin Art Showcase is looking for visual art for the Turning Point Exhibit, held in July.  The theme for this exhibit is Turning Point.  This exhibit is curated by Elgin Resident and local artist, Rachel Elizabeth Maley.  Interested parties should click here to complete the form.  Please note that only pieces submitted on this form will be accepted.  

The exhibit will be on display from July 7-27,2015, and will have a reception on July 11, 2015, sponsored by the Elgin Cultural Arts Commission.  The reception will also feature local live music.  For more information, please see the Art Exhibition Guidelines.  Deadline for submissions is June 30, 2015.  

Accepted artwork will be dropped off at the Elgin Art Showcase on July 6, 2015 from 4:00-6:00pm. Accepted artists must submit a $10.00 installation fee at the time of artwork drop-off.
