New Water Billing Dates
Billing Dates to Change in January 2015
The city of Elgin recently completed a five-year, citywide water meter upgrade initiative that allows for a more efficient meter reading process. As a result of this investment, water billing dates will change.

Beginning in January 2015, Elgin water customers will receive their bill on the 1st, 10th or 20th of the month, depending on the address of your water account. If these dates fall on a weekend or holiday, you will receive your bill on the next business day.

Payments are due 20 days after the billing date posted on your water bill.

Customers may notice a shorter or longer billing period between December and January water bills. The amount due in January will accurately reflect water usage during this transitional billing cycle.

Accounts enrolled in autopay should not be impacted by this change; however, please contact 311 if you experience any difficulties.

New Payment Options in 2015

Elgin 311 continues to expand its capabilities to better serve Elgin residents and businesses.

In 2015, the city will launch a new online customer portal to simplify online payments. In addition to water billing, the online portal will continue to enhance its transactional offerings throughout the year in areas such as permitting and licensing. Enrollment information will be made available when the portal is launched.
