Commission Responsibilities
  • Oversee the implementation of the Sustainability Action Plan. Recommendations in the plan will be worked on by commissioners directly, volunteer working group members and city staff.
  • Hear presentations from businesses, advocacy groups, and other sustainability related associations regarding opportunities for the City of Elgin.
  • Recruit and maintain volunteers willing to help implement the recommendations found within the sustainability plan.
  • Nominate and award Sustainability Honor Roll
