Welcome to the City of Elgin’s community engagement office. Our mission is to help preserve the integrity of Elgin’s residential areas, to promote a sense of community, and maintain clear communication lines between neighborhood organizations and City Hall.

Neighborhood & Homeowners Associations
Elgin has many organized Neighborhood Associations and Homeowners Associations. While neighborhood and homeowners associations have no formal affiliation with city government, city officials work closely with these associations to consider and act upon any of a broad range of issues affecting the livability and quality of their neighborhood. The city also relies on these associations to help us communicate with their residents about pertinent issues and upcoming events going on in the city. In order to effectively communicate with our neighborhoods, active groups and associations are encouraged to register with the city to receive regular information and updates.

Resident Benefits
By linking Elgin residents with city officials and other community resources, such as the Elgin Community Network, we are able to help groups identify and resolve neighborhood problems, determine future goals and priorities, and encourage residents to get involved in the community.
